Ghost Labs, a new-to-market canned cocktail brand, has debuted with a five-strong range of crystal clear, colourless and low-calorie drinks.
Variants include Tequila (made with grapefruit, maple and green chilli), Gin (with grapefruit, lychee and cucumber), Whisky (with honey, pear and gingerbread), Rum (with coconut, passionfruit and vanilla) and Vodka (with espresso, cascara cherry and guarana). They have launched via DTC, Zapp and in Selfridges (rsp: £18/6x300ml).
The drinks were developed by ex-Diageo drinks scientist Anthony Wilson alongside an unnamed award-winning chef.
They paired “beverage science with culinary expertise to produce unique and unexpected flavour profiles and clarified liquids that defy the usual RTD category expectations”, said Ghost Labs.
“Using cutting-edge science, we break down the ingredients on a molecular level and rebuild them to create a final product that is completely clear while retaining its full flavour profile,” said Wilson. “This allows us to deliver bold taste without the visual expectation – think of coffee extracts without the colour but with all the depth of flavour – resulting in a truly unique, multi-sensory drinking experience.”
The board at Ghost Labs includes entrepreneur designer and co-founder Steve Smith, co-founder and managing director Si Philby, and Candy Kittens CEO Ed Williams.
“Ghost Labs is shaking up the drinks world in the same way Candy Kittens disrupted confectionery – bold design, rule-breaking creativity, and a fresh perspective that challenges the norm,” said Williams. “It’s a brand that doesn’t just fit in – it deliberately stands out.”
Ghost Labs was targeting further UK retail and on-trade expansion in 2025, the brand said.
