Spirits producer Greenall is splitting from its owner, the De Vere Group.
Chief executive Christian Rose has led a management buy-out deal to create a new company dubbed G&J Greenall Group. The company produces 50% of the UK’s own-label gin and vodka.
Rose (pictured) has held senior commercial roles at Somerfield and Safeway. He joined the Greenall business three years ago and has been credited with leading it back into profit.
The company said it plans to concentrate on strengthening its branded portfolio, which includes Greenall’s Gin, plus recent gin launches Bloom and Berkeley Square.
“This represents an extremely exciting time for the company as we look towards the future of our business,” said Rose. “Never before have we been more focused on our branded portfolio of products, alongside our third-party bulk and bottling contracts.”
Rose is joined in the new company by non-executive directors Enzo Visone, a former chief executive of the Campari Group, as well as chartered accountant Warren Scott.
