Ginsters of Cornwall is opening its first-ever store, offering pastries, hot drinks and a breakfast menu.
The pasty producer’s first branch is due to open tomorrow (1 September) in Newbury, Berkshire, in an outlet previously occupied by the West Cornwall Pasty Company.
Called the Ginsters Pasty Store, its menu will include vegetarian options.
The opening will represent the “next chapter in Ginsters’ mission to bring an authentic taste of Cornwall to pasty lovers across the UK,” according to a spokeswoman for the company, which has been baking in Callington since 1969.
Interior styling cues have been taken from new packaging designs introduced across Ginsters’ portfolio in June in an effort to reignite shoppers’ interest in the chilled savoury pastry category.

Opening hours will be from 8.30am to 5pm on Monday to Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
“Our new Ginsters Pasty Store is inviting everyone in for breakfast, lunch and more, with flavours to suit all tastes - including vegetarian options,” said Ginsters MD Kieran Hemsworth.
“We are telling the story of our Cornish heritage, and our commitment to quality ingredients. That means no artificials, and only 100% British farmed meat in our ranges.”
