Dutch Flower Group (DFG), the biggest retail supplier of flowers and plants in Europe, has extended its contract with Gist.
DFG, which has worked with the logistics specialist for 10 years, signed a new three-year contract that will see Gist manage daily international arrivals of fresh flowers into the UK and same-day delivery to DFG’s processing facilities in Holbeach and Hull.
Gist, part of The Linde Group, will manage inbound Customs clearance and Defra/plant health applications of flowers flown in from South and Central America, South Africa, East Africa, and the daily collection and delivery of inbound airfreight arrivals. The group closely monitors conditions in the vehicles to ensure no deterioration of stock in transit.
“Our long-term relationship with DFG has delivered excellent results, creating sustainable, greener air and ocean freight solutions,” said chief executive Gist Martin Gwynn. “We are very pleased this relationship continues to develop, reinforcing Gist’s position as a specialist in time and temperature-sensitive logistics.”
