Martin Glenn is set to take up the new role of chief executive officer of the Iglo Birds Eye Frozen Foods business once its sale to Permira is completed next month.
Glenn has worked in the food industry for 25 years, the past 14 of which he has spent at PepsiCo, having joined Walkers Crisps in 1992 as its NPD manager. In 1998 Glenn was appointed president of PepsiCo and over the past seven years has led efforts to address growing consumer interest in health through new product development as well as taking a prominent role in public debates.
He stepped down from the post in October 2005 in order to pursue other career opportunities within the UK, and in June took up the role of non-executive director for premium baby food brand Plum Baby.
Permira also announced that Henry Schirmer had been appointed as chief financial officer of Iglo Birds Eye Frozen Foods. He joins from Unilever's frozen foods business in the UK.
