Confectioner Glisten has acquired speciality nut company Dormen Foods from its founders for £7.5m.
Glisten will also make further payments subject to certain conditions, with a maximum total consideration of £12m.
Dormen, which has listings in Tesco, Booths, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Fortnum & Mason, farm shops and delicatessens, would become the foundation for Glisten's new premium savoury snacking division, said Glisten CEO Paul Simmonds.
“Dormen is an excellent addition to our group,” he added. “It broadens our reach and takes us into the most dynamic area of the savoury snacks market with a truly premium brand which we feel is a rising star capable of stretch.”
