Global Brands has launched a range of jam jar-packaged, ready-to-serve cocktails under the name London Rd.
The range of 5.5% abv drinks, which went into Morrisons last month, comprises Mojito, Cosmo and Singapore Sling (rsp: £2/200ml).
Global Brands said the new brand’s name referenced the contribution of the English capital to cocktail history.
“London Rd Jam Jar Cocktails celebrate the phenomenal role that London played in the early cocktail scene,” said marketing director Simon Green. “Long considered an American invention, there is evidence to suggest that the cocktail’s roots can actually be traced back to 18th-century London.”
London Rd is the third range of RTDs launched by Global this year, following Flare Cocktails in May and House of Cocktails in September. Each of these is packaged in 250ml cans (rsp: £1), with Flare targeted at convenience and House of Cocktails at grocery.
In August, Irish RTD brand Vardy’s Moonshine, which also comes in jam jars, launched in the UK.
