Marco Pierre White-endorsed soup brand Glorious! has been given a new lease of life following the £24m management buy-out of its manufacturer TSC Foods in July.
The brand has won new national listings with Asda, where it will arrive next week to coincide with the roll-out of four new soups: in Toulouse sausage & bean cassoulet, Mexican bean & tortilla, Irish colcannon, and Moroccan tomato & chickpea (rsp: £1.99).
The brand, which also achieved full distribution at Morrisons and increased listings at Sainsbury's this week, was expected to grow sales from an estimated £1.5m to £5m in the next year, according to Glorious! MD Jonathan Skofic.
The July buy-out saw the second tier of management at TSC Foods acquire Glorious! from the first tier of management, with private equity backing from Key Capital Partners. TSC still owns the Leeds-based business.
