Glorious, Yorkshire Provender and Soupologie have unveiled a raft of new additions to their chilled soup ranges.
Glorious will roll out Moroccan Spiced Chicken, Mexican Tomato & Fire Roasted Pepper and Cuban Creamed Corn (rsp: £1.99/600g) on 21 September. Cuban Creamed Corn is exclusive to Waitrose, while the other two will be available across several mults.
In October, Yorkshire Provender will introduce autumn-inspired Mushroom with Wholegrain Black Rice and Super Broccoli & Lancashire Cheese flavours (rsp: £2.49/600g) to retailers including Tesco, The Co-operative Group, Waitrose, Booths, Budgens and Nisa. Founder Belinda Williams worked with Riso Gallo Venere Black Rice and Farmhouse Lancashire Cheese respectively to create the two recipes.
In November, Soupologie will add three Christmas varieties to its range: Butternut Squash & Chestnut with Brandy; Celeriac, Bramley Apple & Cider; and Parsnip, Pear & Cranberry with Cardamom (rsp: £4.75/600g). The trio will be listed by Ocado.
With sales up 8.6% to £123.9m on volumes up 14.8%, fresh soup is driving growth in the £610m soup category - though it is still the smallest segment, after wet ambient soup and dried soup [Kantar 52 w/e 19 July 2015].
