Premium dips brand G’Nosh is expanding into the prepared meals market with a range of pouched products.
Rolling out now exclusively into Waitrose and Ocado for six months ahead of a wider launch, the Meals in Minute line-up contains meat or seafood in a sauce. Home cooks will need to add pasta, rice or vegetables for an “effortlessly prepared yet satisfying plateful”, said G’Nosh founder Charlotte Knight.
The range (all rsp: £3.49/255g) comprises Ecuadorian king prawns and Spanish chorizo sausage in a spicy tomato sauce; a ragu with Italian sausage; and Spanish mussels and Ecuadorian king prawns in a garlic butter sauce.
All the seafood was responsibly sourced, added Knight, and the pork reared on assured farms.
“Consumers want to be assured of great ingredients and provenance,” she said, “and have been looking to retailers to challenge them by offering more interesting and diverse foods that aren’t afraid to use bold flavours.”
G’Nosh is also rolling out its four-strong dips range (rsp: £2.49/150g) to Waitrose stores nationally. G’Nosh dips - which include Smoky Roasted Aubergine and Beetroot & Mint variants - are currently sold through retailers including The Co-op Group and Ocado.
G’Nosh Babaghanoush dip won a gold award in The Grocer 2013 New Product Awards.
In April, Sainsbury’s started stocking G’Nosh tapas-style pinchos (rsp: £3.29) - skewers of prawns and chorizo with a lemon and chilli dressing.
