South African wine brand Goiya has secured sponsorship of English test match cricket in a deal worth £500,000.
The two-year package gives Goiya, distributed in the UK by Raisin Social, a presence at England's seven test grounds at matches up to and including The Ashes in 2005.
The agreement represents major exposure for the brand, with matches being broadcast live on Sky TV and Channel 4 as well as internationally, including in South Africa. There will also be extensive radio coverage on Radio Four and Five Live.
The Goiya range, which has listings at Tesco and Morrisons and has just secured new deals with Budgens and Wine Cellar, has been given a new look to coincide with the sponsorship deal and release of the 2004 vintage whites.
The blends had also been enhanced in response to the “UK consumer’s palate” with the reds made more fruit-driven.
