Good Catch, the US seafood alternative brand, is hoping to hook shoppers with a trio of frozen products.
Classic Style Fish-Free Burgers, New England-Style Crab-Free Cakes and Thai-Style Fish-Free Cakes have debuted in Tesco and online (rsp: £3.75/227g).
The plant-based products aim to replicate the taste and texture of regular seafood by using ingredients including pea protein isolate and chickpea powder.
Good Catch, developed by Wicked Kitchen founders Derek and Chad Sarno and plant-based food investor Chris Kerr, already sells its tuna alternative through Tesco.
“We’re delighted to be introducing more products to the UK and are excited about the variety that the range will bring to consumers,” Sarno said.
“We’re seeing that people are more concerned about both the health and environmental impacts of their seafood consumption, as well as the wellbeing of the oceans and the species in it that call it home.”
Made by Gathered Foods, Good Catch launched in the US in 2018 and is backed by TV personality Paris Hilton, Hollywood star Woody Harrelson and pop singer Lance Bass, all of whom have invested in the expansion of the company.
