Gousto is hoping to appeal to time-poor Brits with a new mobile app that helps them plan mealtimes, shop and arrange delivery in under a minute.
Available on iOS, the free app gives users a choice of 10 new seasonal meat and vegetarian recipes, which can all be cooked from scratch within 30 minutes.
The ingredients are distributed within two to three days, with prices starting from £4 per portion including delivery.
Recipes currently advertised include Asian Nutty Noodles, Linguine Con Funghi, Harissa Feta Salad and a Pork Loin recipe created by TV chef Theo Randall - though the menu will change on a weekly basis.
“We want ‘getting a Gousto’ to be as instinctive and easy as possible so that our customers can spend the time discovering recipes, cooking fresh food from scratch and enjoying tastes they’ve never created before,” Gousto founder and CEO Timo Schmidt said.
“Forty-five per cent of visitors to the Gousto website already do so via mobile and tablet devices and the app will make the process quicker, easier and more accessible.”
Gousto said an Android version of the app would be out soon.
