Dylan Jones, editor of GQ, has defended Tesco’s decision to reposition men’s magazines away from family titles, saying some of the publications were “tantamount to pornography”.
Jones, who is also chairman of the British Society of Magazine Editors, said he objected to supermarkets positioning magazines with lewd covers at children’s eye level. “Tesco is being very specific about a section of the market. I don’t like pornographic material on sale in supermarkets while children are around.”
