Greggs has opened its 100th franchised shop.
The new bakery on-the-go site, at the Euro Garages forecourt in Shinfield, Reading, is the 51st franchise Greggs has with the company.
The forecourt layout offers seating as well as a takeaway option and free Wi-Fi is also available. It will offer Greggs favourites such as the iconic sausage roll, as well as freshly baked savouries, sweet treats, coffee and sandwiches including Greggs’ Balanced Choice range.
“To reach the 100th store milestone is a real achievement for both Greggs and our franchise partners. Our work in the franchise sector is integral to our business as it enables us to extend the Greggs offer to previously inaccessible locations, particularly transport hubs,” said Martin Kibler, property director for Greggs.
“Our partnership with Euro Garages has so far led to the development of Greggs outlets in 51 of its forecourt sites, with a further five scheduled for the remainder of this year. It’s an exciting time for all involved and we will continue to work closely with all partners to explore other opportunities in the future.”
Ilyas Munshi, commercial director for Euro Garages said the brand is proving popular with forecourt customers.
“Greggs’ premium breakfast offer, fresh sandwiches prepared daily in shop, alongside the savouries and sweet treats are proving to attract even more customers at our petrol forecourt locations,” said Munshi.
“Reaching the 100th shop milestone is testament to Greggs’ commitment to grow through its preferred partner network. Euro Garages look forward to expanding our partnership with Greggs even further in 2016.”
Greggs, which has 1,700 sites nationwide, also has franchise partnerships with Moto, Wightlink, Blakemore, Applegreen UK and Northern Ireland, Compass and Sandpiper.
