A leading Musgrave franchise group in Ireland has quit to join ADM Londis.
The Griffin Group has been operating six Centra c-stores and one SuperValu outlet in Dublin. In a statement, Musgrave said it was due to “divergent views on business strategy”.
Trade sources suggested the disagreement centred on store pricing policy, after the opening of a Musgrave distribution centre in Kilcock enabled it to supply franchise outlets with goods that previously would have been sourced from manufacturers. However, according to Seamus Griffin, joint owner of the Griffin Group with his brother Ger, the dispute was not over pricing.
