The search for the winners of The Grocer Gold Awards 2023 has kicked off, with 33 awards up for grabs in what promises to be the biggest and best ceremony ever.
Taking place for the first time at the Royal Albert Hall, the Gold Awards will now be able to accommodate up to 900 people. Adam Leyland, editor-in-chief of The Grocer, said the move to the new venue would ensure the Grocer Gold Awards continued to evolve – and tickets have gone on sale with immediate effect.
“The Gold Awards has always sold out weeks in advance at the Guildhall due its limited 500-strong capacity,” he said. “It is a glorious venue but it was cramping our style. The new venue will ensure no one misses out, enabling us to do new things with the awards that were impossible before, including bringing in the award-winning Rhubard as our catering partners, so the Gold Awards continues to be the blue riband event of the industry.”
The Gold Awards rewards excellence across the length and breadth of the sector, from startups to the giant supermarkets, with other awards for initiatives covering areas like sustainability, e-commerce and the supply chain. There are three new awards for 2023: the Supplier of the Year, Own Label Supplier of the Year, and Health & Beauty Brand of the Year, while the criteria for the Household Goods Brand of the Year now incorporates petfood brands.
With thanks to our sponsors Aqua Carpatica, Boughey Distribution, Newton Europe, Post Office and SHS.
