Hain Daniels is restructuring its business following the acquisition of Premier Foods’ jams and spreads business.
It announced internally this week that it was splitting the sales division into four new units, three of which - spreads, jellies and grocery soup, meals and meat-free and food-to-go and desserts - will be overseen by their own managing directors.
The fourth unit for the group’s Ireland business, which includes its recently acquired Cully & Sully soup brand, will report directly to chief executive Rob Burnett, as will the innovation team. Foodservice and exports will also remain under central control.
In terms of the new recruits, the company has appointed Andy Deutsch as MD of the food-to-go and desserts business. He joins from Vion where he was UK MD of its foodservice division.
Hain has yet to name the other MDs heading up the restructured business, but confirmed they were external hires. It refused to comment on whether they were from Premier Foods.
The management reshuffle follows Hain’s acquisition of several Premier brands and its Histon manufacturing site last month in a deal that will boost its annual revenue to about £400m.
Hain plans to expand its manufacturing site in Fakenham, creating 150 jobs. “We’re getting bigger and we’re operating in frozen, chilled and grocery, so this provides a bit more dedication, more resources and focus, which will allow us to grow both organically and through acquisition,” said Burnett.
