Greggs is trialling a new coffee shop-style format in Newcastle called Greggs Moment.
The concept has a darker colour scheme and a new coffee cup logo. Greggs has also developed a new range of food for the café. It will push hard on breakfast, offering mini pastries, porridge, yoghurt and fruit. It will also bake savouries on the premises, such as gourmet square pies and deli-style sandwiches.
The first Greggs Moment also offers outdoor seating and free Wi-Fi.
“This is a trial and we will be focusing on learning and listening to our customers,” said Greggs chief executive Ken McMeikan.
“We believe there is an opportunity to break into the growing coffee shop market at incredible value prices that are much more affordable. We are offering a fantastic coffee shop experience. I hope Greggs Moment will become a place that local people really enjoy.”
