One of the most well-known faces in grocery is retiring from the industry at the age of 50.
Trevor Hart leaves Weetabix next week after 18 years with the cereals company - 14 of them as its sales director.
Hart, a 30-year veteran of grocery, said the time was right for him to step down from the company, which was bought by Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst in 2003.
“I have no immediate plans,” said Hart. “I am in the fortunate position that I can take my time deciding what I do in the future.”
He said the future was bright for Weetabix: “With Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst backing it, and Ken Wood in charge, the company has exciting times ahead. With the brand, the team and the investment that is going in, the future is looking great.”
Hart’s successor is David Revell, who is currently a consultant but was previously a sales director at Golden Wonder.
