Last week's Beef & Growing Cattle South West event, staged at Hatherleigh in
Devon was declared a
resounding success by
the organisers.
With 3,000 trade visitors, including retail buyers from French chain Intermarché, it has been hailed as an example of the vibrancy of the British beef sector.
Bill Harper, event organiser, said the Intermarché buyers had been impressed by the quality of cattle
they found. He also vowed to step up beef exports.
"We're determined to fly the flag for the British beef industry and passionately promote its eating qualities and production systems to a wider audience," he added.
