Alcoholic ginger beer brand Hawkes has won its first major listing.
The 4% abv drink, which is fermented from kiwi juice and is available in 500ml bottles, started rolling out to 150 Tescos in London and the South East last week.
It has been developed by Simon Wright, a former marketer for Greene King, who began selling it in East London’s street markets, pubs and bars.
Tesco buyer Simon Wingfield described Hawkes as “a young, ambitious business.”
