Marks and Spencer is testing wireless headsets at Marble Arch and Gateshead Metro Centre stores to improve customer service.
The communications system, manufactured by Quail Digital, is used by checkout and customer service staff.
Checkout staff use a keypad, which has request buttons such as “bag packer”, “replace item”, “change required” or “till roll required”.
Customer service staff wearing the headsets hear a request and till number, which helps to quicken response times and give customers a swifter service.
