The Children's Food Campaign is reportedly considering taking legal action against the Food Standards Agency for failing to ban food additives.
Last week, the FSA called for the food industry to provide information on exactly which products contain artificial food additives linked to hyperactivity in children. However, the Children's Food Campaign is to examine whether the FSA can be challenged in court for failing to call for an outright ban, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
“We have checked with the European Commission and it says a country can suspend the use of additives where there is evidence of harm,” a spokesman for the Children's Food Campaign told the paper.
