Heineken trade marketing controller Andy Maddock is to become managing director of Caledonian Brewing Company.
The Edinburgh-based brewer – which makes beers including Caledonian 80/- and Deuchars IPA – has appointed Maddock following the departure of Stephen Crawley at the end of last year.
Maddock, who takes up the role next month, was regional sales director at Heineken for three years before becoming marketing controller for the on-trade in March 2011. Prior to that he held roles at Scottish & Newcastle including national account manager for Enterprise Inns.
Caledonian Brewing Company chairman Keith Hogg said Maddock was joining the business at a time when it was set to further benefit from growing interest in cask beers.
“Working with our brewing team and leading the commercial strategy for the business, Andy will work to expand the market for our great beers and carry on the strong tradition of independent operation for the brewery,” he added.
