Heinz is introducing microwaveable pots to its Big Soup portfolio to tap the trend for convenient lunchtime products.
The format, rolling out now in seven variants, has been developed to drive out-of-home sales for Heinz's Big Soup range, the company said.
It comes in Beef Stew & Dumplings, Chicken & Vegetable Casserole, Lancashire Lamb Hotpot, Roast Chicken & Herb Dumplings, Steak & Guinness Casserole, Steak & Potato With HP Sauce and Pork & Stuffing (rsp: £1.69).
"Consumers are looking for filling lunches to take to work that are easy to carry and quick to prepare," said Lucy Cawkwell, senior brand manager, Heinz Soups.
The canned portfolio has been given a "more contemporary look", including photography designed to reinforce the brand's "high-quality credentials".
