The first croutons to be launched in the UK under the Heinz brand roll out to retailers this month.
Manufactured and marketed by Hull-based Chaucer Foods, the range comes in four flavours - mixed herb, cracked black pepper, tangy chilli and multigrain (rsp: 40p per 40g bag).
It offered an extra-crunchy texture and would bring “big-brand recognition” to croutons, said Chaucer. “The category has been missing a crouton developed for soup that delivers the crunch consumers expect,” added Heinz commercial licensing manager John Alderman.
In April, Peter’s Food Service rolled out four Heinz Beanz-branded slices and three Heinz and HP sausage rolls.
