Mars Petcare UK has announced Helen Warren-Piper’s appointment as its general manager.
Currently the supplier’s UK sales director, she will take up her new role on Monday (10 June), replacing Deri Watkins, who was recently promoted to regional president of Mars Pet Nutrition Europe.
Warren-Piper is currently Mars Petcare UK sales director, where she is responsible for both the marketing and commercial elements of the sales function.
Warren-Piper has more than 20 years’ fmcg experience in senior sales & marketing roles. Before joining Mars in April 2018, she spent almost six years at Premier Foods, where she reached the position of marketing/R&D director UK.
Earlier in her career, she worked at United Biscuits (now Pladis) as marketing director for bagged snacks and then business transformation director, and at Proctor & Gamble in a variety of roles including associate marketing director for the petfood business later acquired by Mars.
Warren-Piper is a champion for diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She is a member of Women in Advertising & Communications, and a mentor for the Marketing Academy’s scholarship programme.
In her new job at Mars Petcare, she will have responsibility for brands including Pedigree, Whiskas, Dreamies, James Wellbeloved natural petfood, and the recently launched Crave.
“I am excited and honoured to be taking on this leadership role at such an important time for the business, as well as for the petcare category and fmcg sector more generally” Warren-Piper said.
The Mars Petcare team was “focused on driving growth through innovation, quality and purpose-led campaigns that really resonate with our consumers” she added.
