Northern Irish Spar wholesaler Henderson Group has launched an online ordering system for its food-to-go offer.
The scheme, being trialled at the company-owned Spar store in Great Victoria Street, Belfast, is being run in partnership with niftynosh.com.Customers can access Spar's breakfast, lunch and dinner menu through the portal.
This includes hot food, sandwiches and salads. It also includes freshly prepared noodles from its noodle bar and coffee and doughnuts.
Customers order and pay online then collect their order from the store. "We understand the importance of continually adapting the offering to meet the needs of consumers," said Henderson Retail fresh foods manager Stuart Cordner. "Shoppers in the city centre are interested in modern food-to-go options but are often under severe time pressure. Online ordering minimises queue time but maximises customer convenience."
