A leading mushroom producer is investing around £1m a year to boost production.
Heveco Mushrooms plans to increase volumes grown at Thakeham, West Sussex, by adding additional adjacent capacity at Abingworth.
The company, the UK arm of European producer group, Holding Heveco, aims to supply its customers entirely with British mushrooms by 2007.
MD Mark Howarth added: "It is no secret that we are also looking for acquisitions across the country to meet our needs for the future."
