Higgidy has appointed former Charlie Bigham’s commercial director Rachel Kelley as CEO.
The pastry pioneer has hired Kelley to replace current CEO Mark Campbell, who is stepping up to chair Higgidy’s board.
Meanwhile, co-founder James Foottit will step back from his day-to-day responsibilities, but will retain a position on the board, said Higgidy.
Kelley joins the team following three years as UK MD at babyfood brand Little Freddie. Prior to that she held the role of commercial director at Charlie Bigham’s, and before that worked at Mars for 17 years.
Starting her new role as CEO in March, Kelley will be focused on implementing Higgidy’s “ambitious” three-year growth strategy, said the brand.
Higgidy founder Camilla Stephens said it “feels the right time to transition the day-to-day leadership of the business”, following 28.5% sales growth last year [Nielsen 52 w/e 5 September 2020].
“We’ve never felt more confident about the future potential of the business and we’ve no doubt that Rachel will bring fresh experience and expertise,” added Stephens.
The latest changes follow news of Samworth Brothers increasing its stake in Higgidy at the end of last year to become a majority shareholder.
