Premium pie maker Higgidy has unveiled its first savoury slices.
The open-top puff-pastry slices, which can be eaten cold or heated, are available in pancetta, red onion & mature cheddar and spinach, pesto & goats cheese (rsp: £1.99). They hit Boots this week and will be rolled out later this month to Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, which will exclusively stock a butternut squash & red pepper variant.
“We were interested to tap into convenience,” said Higgidy commercial director Mark Campbell, who added that the company is on track to beat its sales target of £10.7m in 2011.
