Independent petrol station owner and operator HKS Holdings has completed the acquisition of Leicestershire-based Brobot Group.
The deal gives HKS a further 23 sites, taking the total number of stations in its portfolio to just under 60.
After the purchase of seven Shell sites in September, it means the family-owned company has acquired 30 petrol stations in three months, extending its reach from Yorkshire to Surrey.
“We are delighted at the addition of the new locations to the HKS group, which will help us increase our offering to customers across the country,” said HKS Holdings chief executive Shane Thakrar.
“We look forward to welcoming the new members of our team on board to work alongside our existing committed team, who provide the strength behind our growth strategy.”
The acquisition rounds off a successful year for HKS, which recently signed deals with Spar to brand the majority of its forecourt retail units, and with Costa and Subway to bring additional choice to customers at its stations.
In addition to seeking new sites and land for development, the company said it would continue to develop its existing portfolio, enhance its convenience retail offer and pursue partnerships with food-to-go brands.
“This deal demonstrates the success of independent operators within the petrol station sector and is an important acquisition within the East Midlands, given that it brings together two successful regional businesses,” commented Nick Taylor, director of KPMG, which advised HKS through the process.
