Candidates will gain experience of the lifecycle of products ‘from conception to being stocked in our 600 stores nationwide’, according to Home Bargains

Home Bargains is looking for the third cohort of its buyer apprenticeship programme, leading to an industry-recognised qualification and the chance of a career with the retailer.

Successful candidates will complete an 18-month Level 4 apprenticeship in buying and merchandising through SCL Education Group.

They will “experience the buzz of the fast-paced retail industry” while gaining “invaluable hands-on experience” in the lifecycle of products “from conception to being stocked in our 600 stores nationwide”, according to Home Bargains.

The role will be fully site based in Home Bargains’ Liverpool head office, with a salary of up to £26,000.

Home Bargains is advertising the apprenticeship intake on its website, describing it as “the perfect opportunity if you have a passion for product, being hands-on and creative, and thrive in a fast-paced environment”.

“We are also looking for individuals who have an analytical mind, are meticulous with detail and have good commercial understanding.”

The closing date is 3 December.

Home Bargains launched its buyer apprenticeship programme in autumn 2023 and took in a second cohort earlier this year.

Lidl recently launched a retail leadership degree programme, welcoming its first intake of 51 apprentices in October. Students get a BSc (Hons) Retail Leadership degree from Kingston University. They start on £26,000, rising to up to £46,000 by their fourth year.
