Branded and own-label cake supplier Honeyrose Bakery has bought gluten-free biscuits business Kent & Fraser.
Honeyrose, which supplies retailers including Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, is looking to tap the growth in free-from products with the acquisition of Kent & Fraser, which is based in Crawley, West Sussex.
Kent & Fraser said its turnover had grown 30% year on year, driven in part by NPD including cracker-biscuit hybrid Criscuits.
“Honeyrose Bakery shares many of our trusted values and we feel the time is now right to hand over the mantle,” said founder John Selby.
Honeyrose said gluten free would remain a priority for the business.
