PepsiCo has appointed Becky Olie to the newly created role of heading up the brand’s digital activity.
The former House of Fraser online sales head has been made digital director for the UK, Ireland and South Africa (UKISA), responsible for digital activity spanning sales, marketing and data analysis of PepsiCo brands, including soft drinks and Walkers crisps.
She will report to Jason Richards, vice president of sales, and lead a team of eight digital specialists while heading PepsiCo’s Digital Council, which supports development of digital activity.
“This is a fascinating opportunity to shape the digital presence of some of the UK’s leading and most loved brands at an exciting time when online sales growth is significantly outperforming that of physical stores,” said Olie.
“PepsiCo has a wealth of digital specialists in the business and I am delighted to become part of the team and bring this talent together in a new digital function.”
In her role at House of Fraser, Olie was responsible for leading the development of the retailer’s online channel. Prior to House of Fraser, Becky worked in digital retail for Marks & Spencer and Dorothy Perkins.
“We are delighted to have appointed someone of Becky’s calibre to head up our digital activity,” said Richards.
“She brings with her a wealth of experience from some of the biggest names in the retail sector and we are excited about the pivotal role she will play in driving our digital engagement programme.”
