Cognac house Louis Royer is bidding to capture new consumers with the launch of a cognac-based liqueur called Intrigue.
Sold in a perfume container-shaped bottle, the 17% abv drink is a mix of premium French cognac, vodka and exotic passion fruit juices.
The liqueur was initially launched in the US in May 2003 with a price tag of $30 for a 75cl bottle, and Louis Royer’s European area manager Jean-Cyrill Vincent said there were plans to roll it out across Europe, including the UK, at a similar rsp.
Louis Royer was using the Sial food and drink exhibition in Paris to attract European buyers and ditributors.
It was also showcasing a cognac with grapefruit juice liqueur (17% abv) called Diva, which will be rebranded as Avid if a UK distributor can be found.
It also showed a premium 53% abv VSOP Fine Champagne Cognac called Force 53 Degrees, which comes in a metallic cylindrical box.
