Northern Ireland plant bakery Irwin's is to move into new categories after buying cake and biscuit manufacturer Howell House.
Irwin's supplies bread, including the Rankin Irish speciality range, to retailers in Northern Ireland and Great Britain, but will now also supply Irish-style cakes and biscuits, including Jammy Joeys and Fifteens.
The Howell House brand and plant will be retained.
Irwin's sales and marketing director John Hopkins said: "Howell House is a great fit with Irwin's because its strong reputation for quality bakery processing and its authentic Northern Irish heritage reflect the basis of our own success."
