London-based wholesaler HT Drinks has announced a strategic new business partnership with Belfast-based wine, spirit and beer wholesaler Botl.
Botl which opened its first depot in Belfast in August 2007 is now equally owned by HT Drinks and businessman Jim O'Neill.
The new partners said they were already looking to acquire a second Botl depot in the region, with plans to open it for business by mid-2011.
"This is an excellent new venture for us as we establish our first presence outside the London area," said Prakash Thakrar, MD and owner of HT Drinks. "We have partnered with someone who has excellent local and regional insight and believe the Botl brand will grow to become a major player in the Northern Ireland marketplace during the next few years."
Today's Group said it showed that members had confidence in the future of independent retail.
