Nestlé Rowntree has appointed Matthew Huffer as head of its convenience channel.
He joins Nestlé Rowntree from Burton’s Biscuits, where he was sales director. He takes up his new role in January 2006.
Huffer had been sales director at Burton’s Biscuits for two years. He was previously with McVitie’s for three years, where he was multiple grocer controller after filling several national account roles. He has also held sales posts with Carlsberg-Tetley and RHM.
He replaces Damien Timmins, who is moving to work for Nestlé in Australia.
Timmins, who was promoted to the role of head of convenience channel in July from head of customer marketing, has been with Nestlé since May last year. He joined the group from Coca-Cola, where he worked for 16 years in its Australia, North Asia and South Asia divisions.
Kevin Jones, commercial director for Nestlé Rowntree, said of Huffer’s appointment: “Matthew is a great addition to the team. He has a proven track record of business performance and improvement and I look forward to working alongside him to fulfil our ambitions for the convenience channel.”
This is the second senior management appointment that the group has announced in weeks. Earlier this month it revealed that MD Chris White had left the company and been replaced by Paul Grimwood.
