KP Snacks has added a sweet chilli multipack to Hula Hoops Puft as the supplier prepares to kick off a £1.5m campaign for the healthier snacking sub-brand.
Designed to further tap demand for spicy flavours, the new 6x15g SKU (rsp: £1.60) will roll out this month containing 71 calories per bag (338kcal per 100g) – which KP says is “the lowest number of calories compared to competitors in the snacks multipack segment”.
From 8 January, Hula Hoops Puft will be supported by TV, in-store, social and OOH activity until 28 January – positioning the crisps as “a perfect guilt-free snack for the start of the year”.
Retailers would have “the opportunity to capitalise on the growing consumer trends of spicy and healthy” said Andy Riddle, sales director at KP.
The supplier last year witnessed a sterling performance by its larger Hula Hoops brand. It added 12.9% in value sales to £98.2m [Nielsen 52 w/e 9 September 2017].
