KP Snacks has unveiled a new Big Hoops sharing range complete with two new flavours.
Its new flavours – Punchy Peri Peri and Cool Sour Cream & Onion – and 140g format were “designed to appeal to young adults”, said the brand.
Its BBQ Beef flavour will also roll into the range, which will capitalise on “shared snacking moments with friends”, said KP Snacks.
The trio of Big Hoops sharing bags will be available from 28 June (rsp: £1.99/140g).
KP Snacks marketing director Kevin McNair said the new format was a “natural step to building growth” for the Hula Hoops brand.
Taste was a “critical element of the sharing occasion”, said McNair, adding that the brand’s “bold new flavours” would appeal to target consumers.
“Given the strong performance of the brand across grab bags and PMPs, we’re confident that we’ve got a really exciting proposition with strong market potential”, he added.
It comes after KP Snacks remained profitable and cash-generative last year, despite navigating “changing demand” from consumers during the pandemic, it said.
The addition of Tyrrells and Popchips to its portfolio of brands in 2018 had helped boost its sales by more than 25%, it added.
Last week, it unveiled a new “indulgent” chocolate orange flavoured NPD for its Butterkist popcorn brand.
Its Crunchy Chocolate Orange Flavour Toffee (rsp: £1.59/155g) variant would bridge the gap between popcorn and confectionery, targetting “more consumer occasions”, said KP Snacks.
