Fresh Marketing has unveiled I Am Super Grains, a range of ready to eat grain mixes in microwaveable pouches.
Rolling out this month to more than 400 Asda stores, the high-protein NPD – aimed at younger, health-conscious consumers in search of fast meal solutions – comes in four variants: Barley, Sweet Potato & Chorizo; Quinoa, Mixed Peppers & Lentils; Bulgur Wheat, Chickpea & Chive; and Spelt, Borlotti Bean & Mint (rsp: £1.99/250g).
“We’ve managed to create a funky mix of flavours that are bang on trend,” said Barney Mauleverer, co-founder of Fresh Marketing’s I Am Super portfolio of ambient products.
He added: “The health trends for more protein and fibre in the diet are fuelling demand for more convenient ways to eat healthily. It’s become a very dynamic area.”
The grains’ launch follows a marketing campaign and listings boost for the I Am Souper range of high-protein soups, which found its way into 400 Sainsbury’s branches earlier this year and recently extended its listings with Asda.
