Iceland’s exclusive Pizza Express frozen range has been expanded with a new vegetarian flavour and side dish.
A Formaggi flavour joins Pepperoni Doppio and Hawaiian in the supermarket’s Pizza Express Artisana range, along with Garlic Dough Balls.
The two new products have been launched with an introductory offer of £3 for both a pizza from the range plus the dough balls, which are sold in packs of 12.
The range uses sourdough bases and recipes described as taking inspiration from Pizza Express restaurant offerings. The new Formaggi option is topped with mozzarella flakes, smoked provola, grated hard cheese and passata.
The Garlic Dough Balls are sourdough injected with a garlic, parsley and butter blend.
Both new products are suitable for vegetarians.
The £3 introductory offer, due to run until 11 March, is a reduction of £1.10 on the usual price of £2.50 for a pizza and £1.60 for the dough balls.
Pizza Express retail manager Sophie Le Saint said the range provided “restaurant-quality pizzas” which “customers can cook at home in just a few minutes”.
She added: “These two new additions have been designed with the Iceland customer in mind and with such a compelling offer, we are excited to add our Formaggi pizza and Garlic Dough Balls into supermarkets.”
Iceland head chef Neil Nugent said: “We’re proud to offer Pizza Express’ exclusive frozen range and be able to launch their first frozen dough balls - it’s a Pizza Express classic.”
