Iceland has launched its first app in a digital version of its Bonus Card loyalty saving scheme.
Available on Android and IoS, it’s also Iceland’s first online shopping app. Previously customers have only been able to order deliveries via the website.
The Bonus Card app means shoppers can scan a barcode generated by their phone at checkouts in Iceland or The Food Warehouse to claim the benefits of the scheme, rather than swiping a card.
As usual, they get a £1 bonus for every £20 saved in the scheme, but with added exclusive features such as monthly competitions and giveaways. They can also top up their savings and check their balance using the app.
“We’re thrilled to be launching our first-ever app,” said Iceland Foods chief customer and digital officer David Devany. “The Bonus Card app will allow more customers than ever to save when shopping with us in-store and online with ease. There’s no need to worry about losing your card anymore, it’s all stored on your phone.
“Every year hundreds of thousands of customers use our Bonus Card scheme and we are proud to be able to help them save for big moments throughout the year. The introduction of exclusive offers and events to the app is another huge change we are sure our customers will love.”
