Iceland is selling groceries for 1p again, in the frozen food specialist’s latest effort to help ease the cost of living crisis for customers.
Until midnight this Friday (24 June), online shoppers can choose three ‘essentials’, including two pints of Iceland Semi-Skimmed Milk, a loaf of Iceland Sliced Thick Soft White Bread and a 450g tub of Just Like Butter Spread, for 1p each.
The deal also covers some fruit & veg and summer food lines, such as Warburtons Sliced Soft White Rolls, Iceland Chocolate & Nut Cones and three litres of R White’s Lemonade, to help shoppers planning barbecues. It’s a saving of up to 99p per product.
Iceland has staged two previous 1p sales, ahead of Easter this year and Christmas 2021. Both of these applied to all veg lines that would normally cost £1 or less.
As before, shoppers can claim the latest discount once with each transaction. It makes the maximum saving per basket this time £2.97.
The discount is available only via Iceland’s website, where shoppers must enter the code ‘ICEPENNY’ at checkout to claim it.
Iceland said nearly 10,000 shoppers had claimed the discount on veg at Easter. With the saving per basket in that offer coming to 99p, it means the supermarket cut nearly £9,900 in total from shoppers’ bills.
“We’re continuing to work hard to ensure our customers are being supported as much as possible as the cost of living continues to rise, and we hope our 3p everyday essentials sale will help,” said Iceland MD Richard Walker.
“Our previous sales at Christmas and Easter were very popular and this time we’ve taken the decision to branch out and offer this deal on everyday essentials, as well as vegetables, to help our customers as we navigate through this crisis.
“We’re committed to helping our customers as much as we can at this difficult time and we will continue to do so.”
Iceland also offers free next-day delivery when shoppers spend £40 or more online.
