Challenger brand consultancy YF has appointed Nick Downing as business development director.
Downing spent the past 23 years at IGD, where he was instrumental in expanding the organisation’s commercial arm as part of the executive team. Since 2020, he has also served as a non-executive director at MinsterFB, an agency to help brands succeed on Amazon.
His broad experience in fmcg, coupled with his passion for innovation, made him a strong addition to YF as it continued to drive the growth of high-potential brands, according to the consultancy.
In his new role, Downing will focus on scaling YF’s capability services, supporting brands in areas such as training, auditing and benchmarking.
“We are thrilled to have Nick on board,” YF chief executive Thea Alexander said. “His track record speaks for itself, and his expertise aligns perfectly with YF’s mission of driving growth through innovation.
“Most of all, Nick has a great energy and is well respected – two key attributes we look for in anyone that joins the team.
“I am really excited to be joining Thea and the team,” Downing added. “YF defines the standard for landing brilliant innovation in retail, and the need has never been greater as shoppers demand more from our industry. I look forward to working with both retailers and challenger brands to help them succeed.”
