The Ilchester Cheese Company has been sold as a management buyout for an undisclosed sum.
Speaking on behalf of the MBO team, Melvyn Glynn said: “Whilst in shareholder terms the buyout represents a new era for the company, customers can be assured of full continuity as there is no change in management nor focus. We intend to build upon the company’s reputation for high quality and good service over the years to come.”
The 40-year-old company is best known for its range of blended cheeses, which include Applewood, Five Counties and Mexicana.
