Baugur recruits
Blue Icelandic retail group Baugur has hired Jeff Blue, a director in the investment banking team at Merrill Lynch, to become deputy managing director of retail investments. The group, which owns UK food retailers including Iceland and Whittard of Chelsea, is also recruiting a UK retail manager.
Manager search
Palmer & Harvey McLane is on the lookout for product group managers for grocery and household, confectionery, crisps, snacks and soft drinks and non-food. The roles are part of the wholesaler's ongoing strategic restructure to improve its profit margin of 0.6%.
Hynes' start on hold
Brendan Hynes, who was set to join cake manufacturer Inter Link Foods as finance director, has postponed his start date. Hynes was due to join from Nichols, after it completed its recent year end audit. But when the company announced it was in preliminary talks regarding a possible takeover, Hynes asked Inter Link Foods to defer his start date.
