The Barton Meat Company has opened the largest butchers operation for caterers in the UK located in Gorton, Greater Manchester. The new £5.5m facility supplies fresh meat and value added meat products through 3663's distribution network.

Welsh Country Foods has won a major award with a newly launched upmarket lamb product sold at Asda, Extra Special Lamb Loin Chops. The product is traditionally butchered and matured for up to 21 days and scooped the 'Best New Lamb Product' award at the prestigious British SuperMeat Awards organised by Meat Trades Journal, which is owned by William Reed, the publisher of The Grocer.
